Germany expects launch of Nord Stream after July inspection

BERLIN, Jul 5 (PRIME) -- Germany expects resumption of gas transportation through the Nord Stream pipeline after an inspection scheduled for July, Economy Minister Robert Habeck said Tuesday.

"This is regular maintenance, it was announced and fulfilled last year as well,” he said.

“It took about 10 days then. When you ask what my expectations are, (the answer is) the deadline will be met, and gas will be pumped again starting from July 20."

The operator of the pipeline said earlier that both threads of the Nord Stream natural gas export pipeline will be closed for scheduled maintenance from July 11 through July 21.

Habeck also said that reduction in pumping volumes is not ruled out in the current situation.
